Galore, the Fashion Society of Maitreyi College, embodies confidence, grace, delicacy, and passion through its walk, outfits, and makeup. Over the decade, we have showcased various social themes, reflecting the creativity and imagination of our members in our productions, fashion designs, and makeup. With more than 18 victories in last tenure, we continue to uphold the legacy of embracing fashion and creativity. Our journey has seen significant growth, from being named the Best Fashion Society of Delhi University to consistently securing top positions in DU BEAT for the past 7-8 years. Moreover, Galore has been prominently featured in Radio Mirchi, HT City, and Delhi Times for its fashion showcase and performances in various fests and competitions.
At Galore, our goal is to address significant social issues through our annual productions. We are committed to harnessing the full potential of our members, leveraging their skills in fashion design, makeup, and modeling.We want to set a benchmark & give due importance to fashion as to any other co- curricular activity. Galore aspires to create not only a society but a community of models, designers, and makeup artists that embraces body inclusivity and ensures that fashion representation is accessible to all.
Being an all women oriented team, we highly focus on representing themes that resonate with women by challenging societal norms and stereotypes through our productions.Our collective effort to bring rampage and inclusive fashion together in our choreography has been one of our key highlights throughout the fest season. Our recent theme, "Female Rage," not only embodies women’s empowerment but also highlights the emotional turbulence, anger, and resilience women experience at various stages of their lives. . Our production showcases how everytime women are put into darkness, they rise out of the ashes and behold stronger than ever.
The society organizes annual fashion competitions within the college. We host Regalia during the Sparkles Diwali Mela, providing participants with a platform to display the diverse ethnic fashions of various Indian regions. Our flagship event, Forge, held under the Rhapsody, The Annual fest of the college, features various fashion societies presenting their annual themes. Additionally, we organize makeup events such as Rang-e-Noor for Independence Day and Glazed during the Maitreyi College annual fest.
