National Cadet Corps (NCC)

Maitreyi NCC is a part of 3 Delhi Girls Battalion (3DGBN), C group, Delhi Directorate. It had a glorious history and continues to carry forward the motto of Unity and Discipline. Cadets enrol every year bringing with them their unique talents and diversity, all united under the same motto. With service before self being their second nature, we strive to create better individuals dedicated to become the future leaders.

Maitreyi NCC has always been an active participant for various events organised at unit level. Activities are conducted on various important days that are in the interest of social welfare like the No Tobacco Day, National Safe Motherhood Day, Navodit Children Carnival, World Food Safety Day, International Yoga Day, World Environment Day, Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking Day etc. These events have always seen an overwhelming response from the cadets across all the three years and have helped them to be more aware and sensitive towards the society.

Camps are integral part of NCC where cadets undergo rigorous training and tough selection process. There are various camps from unit level to national level that are conducted and Maitreyi NCC has left no stone unturned in excelling in each of them. Cadets participate in various camps and rallies like Annual training camps, Thal Sainik Camp, Chief Minister’s rally, Prime Minister’s Rally, and Prestigious Republic Day Camp.

Enrolment and Vacancy

There are a total 160 vacancies for SW cadets, across all the three years. The National Cadet Corps helps create better leaders for the future and thus has a rigorous selection process involving:

  • Physical test- running, push ups, sprint, crunches and more, to check the agility and strength of the cadets
  • Interview- evaluate the intellect, communication skills and the confidence of the individual.
  • Written test- basic general knowledge and defence related knowledge.

‘B’ certificate exam is conducted in the second year and ‘C’ certificate exam is conducted in the 3rd year.

Notable Achievements

  • All Maitreyi cadets appeared for C certificate exam from 2022-23 batch secured A grade making everyone filled with pride and elation.
  • JUO Devika Ahlawat was appointed senior of the Delhi Directorate for the SNIC camp in June 2023.
  • The Annual NCC Fest of Maitreyi College Nishtha’23 was certainly a success with huge participation of 700 cadets from various colleges of Delhi.
  • Senior Under Officer Aarushi, Junior Under Officer Uma, CPL Niharika Shekhawat, LCPL Neha Chaudhary, Cadet Sanjana, Cadet Nisha participated in the Chief Minister’s Rally. Senior Under Officer Aarushi Sharma was the leading commander of the Girls Contingent in the CM Rally.
  • LCPL Rashi Singh represented Maitreyi NCC in the Thal Sainik Camp 2022.
  • SGT Mohika, SGT Sunanda, LCPL Neha Yadav, Cadet Diya Yadav, represented Maitreyi NCC in the Delhi University guard and Piloting.
  • SUO Eshika was selected for the KartavyaPath contingent in the prestigious Republic Day Camp in January 2022. JUO Nandini Raj and SGT Nupur Bharadwaj attended the Republic Day Camp 2023.
  • Cadets also participated in the Prime Minister's Rally held in January 2022. SGT Navya Baisoya, LCPL Rashi Singh, CPL Puja Yadav, Cadet Nishita, Cadet Nikita, Cadet Hanshika Sharma, Cadet Pooja Kumari, Cadet Sneha Singh, Cadet Priyanshi Joshi successfully completed the Prime Minister’s rally 2023.
  • Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat camp 2021 and All India Girls Trekking Expedition Ajmer 2021 saw the participation of several cadets from Maitreyi NCC.
  • Cadet Karuna took part in the Parasailing event, in the Prime Minister's Rally 2022.
  • LCPL Ritu Singh and CPL Kanika Dahiya participated in the The National War Memorial Camp.
