The hostel has a separate mess where residents can take their meals. It is managed by the residents under the supervision of the Warden and operated on cost basis. The menu is decided by the residents’ council. The mess is operated thrice a day – at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The mess is managed by the residents themselves. Wholesome meals are served. A resident is expected to come for meals in the dining hall properly attired. Meals are not served outside the dining hall except in case of indisposition Mess remains non-functional during autumn and winter breaks and the summer vacation.

The meal timing are as follows.

Breakfast : 07:30 a.m. - 9.00 a.m.
Lunch : 12:30 p.m. - 01:30 p.m.
Tea : 04:30 p.m. - 05:30 p.m.
Dinner : 07:00 p.m. - 08:30 p.m.

Mess Rules

• Mess charges must be cleared within 7 days of the issuance of the mess bill failing which a late fine of Rs.100/- will be charged upto the end of a month.
• Students are not allowed to remove the kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery from the dining hall under any circumstance.
• Residents are required to be punctual for dinner. Catering staff will not be expected to provide meals before or after the fixed timings.
• Wastage of food is strictly prohibited.
• Residents must eat in the dining room. Sick students may be allowed to have their meal in their rooms only with prior permission Mess Off/Rebate Rules Attendance record of each resident would be maintained on attendance register by Maitreyi college girls hostel. Minimum of 5 days and maximum of 10 days mess off would be allowed at a time. However, Rs.50/- is charged for each leave day for operating expenses. Residents would not be allowed to avail mess off for more than 25 days in a semester. To avail mess off facility, a resident is required to seek permission of Warden and should inform the Administrative Staff of the Girls Hostel in writing, two days in advance before leaving the hostel. The rebate in mess bill may be given to individual students on request. The warden and the mess committee of the hostel, keeping in view the income of family and living standard of the concerned student, shall take decision in this regard. 5. Common Room
• The common room is for exclusive use of the residents.
• The common room will close at 11.00 p.m. After 11.00 p.m. the residents should be in their own rooms and maintain silence thereafter in the hostel.
• Viewing television is allowed in the common room till 11.00 pm on all days. On Saturday it is allowed till midnight.
• All common areas including corridors should be kept clean and litter free. Any violation of this will invite penalty.

Rooms: Maitreyi College Hostel offers accommodation on twin/thrice-sharing basis. In addition, few rooms are 4-bed rooms. All rooms are semi furnished. These have ergonomically designed furniture that includes a single bed with storage box and drawer,, bedside table, dresser, cupboard, study desk and chair, overhanging bookcase, for individual use. Rooms are not air-conditioned.

Medical Facility: The College has a Basic Health Care unit to provide medical support in its campus to provide immediate medical assistance to needy students.

Laundry Services: The college has in-campus outsourced laundry services for the residents. The residents at their choice can avail the in-campus laundry services.

Toilet Blocks: Each wing has a toilet block with hygienic facilities, and geysers for hot water.

Drinking Water: Each wing has a Water Cooler served by water purified by an Industrial RO.

Dining Hall: The dining hall has a seating capacity of more than 100.

Wi Fi: The entire college and the Hostel are Wi Fi enabled.

Laptops: Residents are permitted to bring their own laptops. The college also issues laptops to students desirous of availing the facility.

Library: Resident students have access to college library which is kept open till 8 PM.

Sports Facilities: The hostel common room is furnished with a variety of indoor games for recreation. In addition, the college has a sports ground for other sports activities.

Services: Electrician and plumber are on 24 hour call.

Sanitation: Special focus is on cleanliness, health and hygiene. Adequate sanitation and garden staff take care of the estate.

Administration: The Hostel Office is open from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.

Wardens: Wardens reside on the campus in quarters reserved for her. She takes care of any medical emergency in the night hours.

Guest Accommodation: One fully furnished Guest Room is available for a maximum of one day for parents on payment basis. Advance booking is required.

Security: Dedicated round-the-clock security guards have been employed.

Banking : The Punjab National Bank, Maitreyi College branch is available in the college campus where resident students are advised to open their accounts. Residents are also advised against keeping too much cash or other valuable items in their rooms. Authorities will not be responsible for any unfortunate loss. Residents are advised to maintain all recreational facilities. Purposefully damaging the facility shall invite a fine of Rs.1000/- and strict action against the resident.
