The Science Setu programme was launched in 2014 as a measure to address the problem of paucity of teaching resources in higher education leading to a lack of connectivity between academic scholarship and teaching. It seeks to make use of a large number of national research institutions that are scattered around the country in a wide variety of academic areas and with thousands of scientists with high scholarship competence. The programme provides scope for the scientists to take up systematic teaching commitments at the undergraduate level too, besides PhD courses. It started with five colleges and expanded progressively and currently 17 colleges are associated with it and Maitreyi is among one of them. Maitreyi College is associated with the most leading scientific organisation Translational Health Science & Technology Institute (THISTI) Faridabad.
Apart from holding training sessions, scientists at the premier institution have conducted talks and lectures at the participating colleges on various aspects of biotechnology, immunology and other science and technology topics. In addition, from 2018 we have sent students in the batch of four to five for hands-on training sessions under the Shadow Scientist Program of Translational Health Science & Technology Institute (THISTI). Till date more than 30 students have done their internship under the able guidance of faculty and scientists of THSTI.
Similar to THSTI we have MoU with National Institute of Immunology (NII) under the aegis of Science Setu, and we are organizing seminars, talks and training programs with this too.
The department of Computer Science is working in Collaboration with ICT Academy since 2019. Many Student Literacy programs, Power Seminars and Faculty Development Programs have been organized in association with ICT Academy. Activities organized in association with ICT Academy are:
