The National Service Scheme (NSS) at Delhi University is a student-led volunteer program that aims at the holistic development of the participants through community service. The NSS volunteers engage in a variety of community service activities, such as cleanliness drives, tree planting, blood donation camps, and educational programs for underprivileged children. Its goal is to create social awareness and promote social responsibility among students. The volunteers work on projects related to health, education, and social issues. NSS empowers young people to become active participants in community development and nation-building. It encourages leadership and team-building skills. Participation in NSS programs provides students with opportunities to develop soft skills, leadership skills, and a sense of social responsibility.
