Thesis Title: Novel Nanophosphors for Cost-Effective White LEDs with Improved Color Rendering Index
Salient features of your Ph.D. research work
Phosphor-based white light sources are generated by the combination of RBG LEDs and phosphors. Thesis work comprises of novel
phosphor systems to obtain high-purity white light. Rare-earth-free phosphor NaZnPO4:Mn has been suggested in the thesis, which could be a
probable replacement for the conventional yellow-green phosphor Y3Al5O12:Ce3+. A new red-emitting Gd2CaZnO5:Eu3+ nanophosphor
system having exceptionally strong absorption for blue (~465 nm) and significant red (~611 nm) photoluminescence has been synthesized.
The optimized thickness of red and yellow green phosphors’ layer with blue LED has been realized to achieve warm white light possessing
high CRI of about 77.
