Istoria is dedicated towards enhancing the interactive field within the curricular framework as well as related fields to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity of the students and understanding of the historical inclination. The co-curricular activities include in-house as well as outreach programs. Ranging from museum visits, field visits to places like Feroz Shah Kotla, workshops on topics fluid in nature,movie screenings on either contemporary topics or based on academia. A major highlight of the department is the much anticipated annual fest organized under faculty by the student association. It revolves around various themes and features a plethora of events.

Our short term goals include communicating historical knowledge, interpretations, and arguments clearly.Demonstrating an understanding of political, social, cultural, economic, gender, and environmental history.Identifying historical arguments, evaluating them critically and ethically.Substantiating knowledge of diverse human experiences across time and space, reflecting an understanding of the histories of people of other intersectional identities which further helps us in engaging in making the past accessible and relevant in the public sphere.
The long-term goal will be to cultivate research, expand community outreach and promote inclusivity, engage alumni, integrate technology for research and teaching methods, and to drive public history initiatives to make knowledge accessible to a wider audience for the advancement of department's development.
n our History Department, a systematic approach to experiential learning is implemented to enhance students' understanding of historical events and cultivate critical thinking skills.The department has implemented field trips to historically significant sites,museums and local archives, allowing students to connect theory with tangible historical artifacts and landmarks. These trips encourage active engagement and promote a deeper appreciation for the subject matter. Additionally, the department has introduced hands-on workshops for the students.Collaborative group projects and discussions are also encouraged, fostering critical thinking and lively discussions.Lectures by different historians are also arranged for a better understanding of a particular subject.
